Virtually Indestructible LED 3C Flashlight
Durable, bright and long battery life - all at a good price!
As a home inspector I need a flashlight that can deliver. This one is an excellent choice for my kind of work environment which can be dirty, wet, cold or hot. The battery life is simply amazing for the lumens (brightness) produced. The two light levels are perfect for me. Low level that saves battery life and high level when I need a bright light. Low level helps also when you move in close to examine or operate something and not blind yourself! This is my third flashlight of this Ray o vac design. The first one needed to be replaced after about 3 years of everyday professional use and the second one I gave away! The first model I had was not rubber armored. The rubber ends are a big plus however I do not like the placement of the switch at the end it was better for use on the side of the barrel. I also miss the rubber grip over the metal barrel. I took it off my first flashlight and fitted it onto my second one....loved it! I also buy this flashlight to give away as a promotion for my business at events and its always well received! This product, in my opinion is priced well for what you get.

Original batteries less than wonderful
I have a LOT of flashlights including the Model: DIY3C-B and its little brother the 2AA model.
This one is VERY rugged, reasonably bright, and great on battery run time. The head is designed to not roll around on a table, a nice feature.
The only two improvements I'd make on it is the switch placement on the rear (I would prefer it on the side) and the unnecessary low power mode. Despite these two things I bought it because its ruggedness was a more important feature.
The big problem I had with it is the original Ray o Vac batteries leaked while they still had plenty of life in them. I haven't had batteries leak in very many years.
Now the flashlight is useless as the batteries swelled and are not removable. I wrote for a replacement and I'll see how well the "lifetime" warranty holds up.

how do YOU open this flashlight?
To change the batteries? A friend and I have searched high and low on the light to find how to open it to change the batteries.

This is the best flashlight for the work I do
I am a PM Switchman at the Grand Canyon Railroad and the whole night crew uses this flashlight. When you are riding on the side of a railcar and switching out cars, its nice to know that the flashlight(we switch at night) we are using is durable and weatherproof(we switch in all types of weather). Its easy to hold while hanging on to the cars. The only two problems we have run into with this flashlight is that it will flicker when it gets below freezing, and the lens cap will fog over like a headlight cover will, and is a pain to try and get it clean.

I'm a believer and this is the light Jesus would carry!
I purchased the 3C version and it's smaller sibling the 2AA. The two mode switch is great because I use the lower power up close so as not to be blinded by the brightness. On high power it cuts through the most stubborn environment. It definitely lights the way! Kudos to RAYOVAC.

I love this light! Its the most powerfull and durable light I have ever owned. The only issue with it is the bulb is loose and I cant figure out how to fix. I cant unscrew the top like most conventional flashlights and I used pipe wrenches. There are no instructions on how to replace.
