Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rechargeable batteries for the money Someone mentioned their battery had a 1.38 volt reading and said it was a bad reading ? Rechargeable batteries are rated at 1.2 volts a 1.38 volt reading is an excellent reading, these batteries are not 1.5 volts ! Customer 8576307 your review is wrong, read the side of the battery it says 1.2 volts. After you charge the batteries test them with a volt meter, also using an electrical outlet on-off wall timer will help to prevent accidently over charging the batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally happy I can't think of any way this charger could be more efficient. It will charge up to 4 AA or AAA batteries in 8 hours or less. I have had it for more than 3 years with no problems. Inexpensive and efficient. Very happy with the quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Packaging If Rayovac put the batteries in the packaging for sale, the way it is to be used, many people would not have a problem with charging. The batteries were not charged as indicated on package or may have discharged during shelf time. This selling point should be taken off package or referenced on insert*. The led lights are good to let you know it is charging, blue, but the color should change when they are fully charged and/or not able to charge. I imagine this is so with the more expensive units. A simple direction pamphlet* would help because most people discard the packaging and look for an insert. Complete answers to reviews would be beneficial to all who visit this site. I see the same questions repeating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from safety auto shut off Bought model PS134 with 4 NiMH batteries(2AA/2AAA), the package says safety auto shut off. Nothing in the manual or package explains the shutoff. Is this auto shutoff for when batteries are fully charged or for a time period. If its for a time period then the batteries could overcharge

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is just to offer some advice. I see quite a few reviews on here complaining that the product doesn't work. To those people I would like to point out something that could have been adressed in the replies by Rayovac themselves but for some reason was not. When charging batteries they must be charged 2 or 4 at a time, and when charged in pairs you must put them next to each other or there will be no connection to the circuit and they will not charge. As for my opinion on the product it's self. The charger works fine, and so do the batteries. But the claims on the batteries lasting longer than normal batteries is a bit of stretch as they last about 2 weeks in my wireless mouse, which is about the standard from the life of batteries in the device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from BASIC MISTAKE To anyone who finds that this charger will not work straight out of the package, you should look in the battery hold compartment, where you snap the batteries in to charge them. When your charger and batteries were packaged, the factory put a CLEAR PLASTIC STRIP between the positive nub of the batteries and the charger metal contact, so the batteries will not drain or otherwise engage power while they are just sitting in the store on the rack. just remove this clear plastic strip (it is not glued in or anything), and your charger will light up and charge your batteries. So after this false start mine is now plugged in, lit up and charging some older NiMH batteries. But I do agree, there is no explanation about the blue lights, I am guessing they will change to green when the batteries are charged up.
