Rayovac®, a worldwide leader in battery power and innovation, has taken the opportunity to help children in need by donating batteries and volunteering its time to help the Toys for Tots Foundation.
“Batteries are needed for many of the toys we receive in the Toys for Tots program,” said Major Loren Carter, Dane County Coordinator of The Salvation Army. “Rayovac has generously donated thousands of batteries so that these toys will be powered up and enjoyed by children all across Dane County.”
Toys for Tots is a nonprofit charitable organization that is organized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. The mission of the program is to collect new and unwrapped toys during the holiday season and distribute those toys as gifts to less fortunate children across the country.
This year’s distribution dates are taking place December 18-20, from 9:00am to 4:00pm and on December 21, from 9:00am to 2:00pm. This wonderful opportunity to volunteer will be located in The Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall B.
Rayovac® made the donation keeping in mind that many children go without gifts during the holidays. David Carlson, Director of Marketing Communications for Rayovac stated, “We are very happy to help in any way we can. We know that the holidays are difficult times for some children and we hope that our donation can bring them joy. The entire holiday season is filled with opportunities to give back and Rayovac is proud to be able to donate to Toys for Tots and fulfill our commitment to help children who are less fortunate.”
