Consumers can learn where they can recycle NiMH batteries for free by going to or by calling 1-877-2-RECYCLE (1-877-273-2925).

If there is no recycling collection site near you, NiMH rechargeable batteries can be disposed with household trash. Don't dispose of batteries by incineration, due to the risk of explosion.
